KNORR RECOMMENDED ROAST
T’s & C’s
1. This promotion is open to bona fide catering establishments in the Republic of Ireland (ROI) or Northern Ireland (NI) who serve a roast or carvery to the public and their employees. Entrants must be aged 18 or over and residents of either ROI or NI. This promotion is not open to employees of the Promoter, their families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion. Employees may be able to enter but they must first obtain their employer’s consent to do so.
2. To enter:
a) Visit Knorr Recommended Roast 2025 (unileverfoodsolutions.ie) and complete the entry form.
b) You must tell us the name and address of your catering establishment (Including the Eircode); provide two photographs of the roast/carvery dinner (one front on and one side on of a fully plated roast dinner as served to the customer); and provide a description of the roast/carvery.
3. If your entry is shortlisted, you will be visited by our expert Mystery Dining team for an assessment of your roast.
4. The opening date for entries is 08:00 BST on 02/09/2024 and the closing date for receipt of entries is 23:59 BST on 31/03/2025.
5. The promotion is limited to one entry per establishment. No establishment may win more than one prize per year.
6. Each entry:
a) Must be suitable for display and publication online and should not be obscene or indecent (including but not limited to nudity, pornography or profanity), it must not contain defamatory statements or words or symbols that are offensive either generally or to individuals of a certain race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or socioeconomic group. Entries must not include threats to any person, place, business or group, must not invade privacy or other rights of any person, firm or entity, and must not in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations or network standards.
b) Must not contain or reference any third-party trademarks or logos unless such inclusion is merely incidental and is not unduly prominent and if it is included with due cause and in such a way that it does not take unfair advantage of any third-party trademarks; and
c) Must be the entrant’s own work and must not contain any copyright protected works (other than as owned by the entrant).
7. No applications from agents, third-parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by a computer will be accepted. Any incomplete or corrupted entries will not be accepted. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions herein.
8. If you submit an entry that includes material the rights of which are owned by a third party, including intellectual property rights such as copyright and trademarks, you will be responsible for any legal action that party may take against you.
9. Entrants shall indemnify and hold the Promoter and their respective affiliates, directors, agents, or other partners ("the Indemnitees") harmless from any claims, actions, proceedings, costs (including reasonable legal fees) and expenses brought or asserted by a third-party against any of the Indemnitees arising because of the Promoter's use of the entrant's submission including but not limited to any breach of third-party intellectual property rights.
10. By participating in this promotion, you agree to release, discharge and hold us harmless from all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind resulting from your participation in this promotion (save that nothing shall limit our liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence).
11. By submitting your entry, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable and transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute, and make derivative works of your entry in any media and through any media channel. No responsibility is accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed because of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
12. Entrants will be awarded a Knorr Recommended Roast plaque if they meet the standard set out by Knorr.
13. The Knorr Recommended Roast award includes:
a) One plaque to outlets that meet the standard
b) Knorr Recommended Roast Venues announced online
c) Local and national PR support, including a press release sent to local, national and trade publications for inclusion in editorial features, as well as liaising with the media to answer questions and queries for a period of one month after the recipient’s announcement has been made. Editorial coverage is at the sole discretion of the publication and by no means guaranteed as part of the PR support
14. All valid entries received on or before the closing date will be shortlisted by our expert panel. If your entry is shortlisted, you will be visited by our expert Mystery Diner team for an assessment of your roast.
15. The panel will decide if the entry qualifies for mystery dining, based on the following criteria: Venues entering the Knorr Recommended Roast programme must first meet the qualifying standards set out in the initial assessment, which comprises uploading a minimum of 2 photos of their roast offering (one top down and one side on photo of a fully plated roast as served to the customer) and a short description of the roast offering i.e. For the photo, there are strict criteria to ensure the venue can be assessed accurately.
a) The photograph must be of an actual Roast/Carvery offering served in the venue entering.
b) The photo must be of the full plate of food, including meat, vegetables, gravy and any additional sides.
c) Venues can submit up to 3 photographs of the establishment’s roast / carvery dish (fully plated) but they must be of the same dish – from above and from the side, etc.)
d) Photoshopping or use of filters is prohibited
16. Questions should be answered as indicated on the entry form.
17. Photos can be used by UFS/ Knorr for marketing purposes relating to the Knorr Recommended Roast programme.
18. Entrants’ submissions to the programme will be assessed by 31st March 2025 and all decisions are final.
19. For a venue to be recognised as a “Knorr Recommended Roast” venue, they will be required to meet an agreed standard. This standard is based on the venue attaining a minimum level (75%) against agreed criteria.
20. Each venue is automatically awarded 100 points, with points then deducted under the following headings:
a) Submitted photos – the photos must show an accurate representation of the dish served on the day of mystery dining i.e. the construction of ingredients, varying number of vegetables served the flavour & presentation of the meat, vegetables, gravy & p overall presentation of the dish. At least two photo’s must be submitted showing the dish from top down and side view
b) The venue in terms of cleanliness, comfort and staff
c) Would the diner “Recommend the venue to a friend” on a scale of 0 (most definitely recommend to a friend) to 10 (Would not recommend to a friend).
21. Photograph / detailed narrative will accompany each of the above headings.
22. Venue to indicate the “venue type” when entering i.e. pub, restaurant, hotel, café, other
23. Opening hours for outlets entering need to be visible online or Google maps or noted on the online application to ensure mystery dining can commence
24. Plaque must be erected / shared digitally within a month of receipt of the plaque.
25. No return visits for mystery dining – strictly 1 visit only.
26. Only failed entries are provided with written reports directly from the Mystery Dining Panel.
27. Points can be deducted for various reasons e.g. if the picture of the roast used to enter is completely different to the roast served on the day to the mystery dining team. Only outlets retaining a score of 75% or over will receive a plaque.
28. A plaque will be awarded to any outlet that, in the view of the Mystery Diner, meets the Knorr Recommended Roast standard.
29. Plaques are non-transferable / exchangeable.
30. The shortlisted entries will be mystery dined and awarded a plaque (if they qualify) within 6 weeks of entering.
31. The Mystery Diner team are an expert panel who will judge their experience on the following judging criteria: overall taste, taste of meat, vegetables, gravy and potatoes, food presentation, hygiene, value for money, staff (customer service).
32. In the event of any dispute, the decision of the Promoter is final. In the event of any unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for an alternative of equal or greater value. No correspondence will be entered into.
33. Qualifying entrants will be notified by email or telephone within 6 weeks of entering. The plaques will be delivered by Unilever Food Solutions (UFS) business development managers.
34. Qualifying outlets details (name and county) may be made available on request to those who email the Dotted Line ( info@dottedline.ie ) within ten weeks after the closing date, enclosing a stamped SAE.
35. Qualifying entrants may be filmed, photographed, and interviewed by the Promoter or on our behalf following the recipient’s announcement. The outlets grant us a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable and transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute and make derivative works of such footage, photographs, and testimonials in any media and through any media channel.
36. Qualifying entrants may be required to participate in publicity arising from this promotion.
37. By entering the promotion, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Data Controller for the purposes of the administration of this promotion and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented. The personal data will be processed in accordance with the Data Controller’s Privacy Policy, which is available at http://www.unileverprivacypolicy.com/en_gb/policy.aspx. All entry instructions form part of the rules.
38. These terms and conditions shall be governed by Irish law and the courts of the Republic of Ireland shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
